What books to take…?

Published 31/10/2013 by leannecrabtree

Is it strange that I’m already thinking of what books to take with me to San Francisco when I don’t go for another 11 days? I’m having a kindle vs paperback war, but considering I wont be taking my kindle charger with me, maybe it’s better to go for paperbacks. Plus, I have quite a selection to choose from. Now it’s just which ones to take…hmm?

Would you recommend any of the following?

What do you like reading about in PR/UF books?

Published 29/10/2013 by leannecrabtree

So I finished reading Storm Born by Richelle Mead last night and it finally made me realise that I’m not a big fan of the Fey. Give me a vampire or shapeshifter and I can be drawn in from the first page but with fairies/sidhe/fey…nah, it doesn’t happen. It cant be put down to Richelle’s book either, as I have the first four books in Julie Kagawa’s The Iron Fey series and after reading the first, The Iron King, I’ve found I’m in no hurry to continue the series.

So I was just wondering: What do you like reading about in Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy books? The poll (you know I’m quite fond of these) below allows for multiple selections, so feel free to pick as many or as few as apply to you. I’m just feeling curious 😀

My newer version of Cat’s Wolf arrived!

Published 28/10/2013 by leannecrabtree

So it came on Saturday and I totally forgot about it, until a minute ago. As you can see it’s smaller than the old one. It also has cream pages, page numbers and I’m not sure if you can make it out but my name and the title are on the spine! Big improvement on last time!

Now it’s just the image which is still slightly pixelated and the page numbers continue onto the preview of book 2, Wolf Claimed, that I also added. It’s not major enough for me to go back and change it all again, so I think I may just approve the proof and set it to distribution through Amazon and Createspace.

I don’t think I’ll be doing Wolf Claimed into paperback yet, as I’d like to get a bit of the way into Shifter Romance Novella, #3, which will be Malachi and Ruby’s story. I’m not really into my writing at the minute, though it has a prologue and I’ve started chapter one.

So, after posting the other day about whether you’d like to win e-book copies of my books, Cat’s Wolf and Wolf Claimed–books 1 and 2 in my Shifter Romance Novella series–and getting several likes and “yes” answers, I decided to put together a Rafflecopter giveaway.

It’s open internationally. Just click the link below to be taken to the giveaway (my blog doesn’t like HTML so it wont show the widget, unfortunately).

Thinking of doing a giveaway of my books

Published 22/10/2013 by leannecrabtree

Since it hasn’t been that long since I finished Wolf Claimed, I’m thinking of doing a Rafflecopter giveaway of books 1 and 2 in the series…so I was wondering if anyone would be interested? It would be open internationally and I’d have maybe 4 or 5 winners of the e-books?

Book Review and Giveaway – Roused by Lilou Roux

Published 21/10/2013 by leannecrabtree

roused

Title: Roused (Moon Called, #2)
Author: Lilou Roux
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: 20th October 2013
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I read and reviewed book one in the series, Drawn, here. (My reviews have improved a bit since then 🙂 )

Synopsis:

Hell-bent on getting her sister Tess out of the clutches of what can only be a weirdo-cult Erin Wright travels all the way to Montana. Upon arrival she ignores the beautiful setting and the tug of longing in the pit of her stomach. Though most of all she tries to ignore the hot guy who opens the door.

Erin is determined to keep Seth from getting under her skin and the Hawkins family and their magic out of her heart, but that’s easier said than done …

18+, contains graphic sex scenes

So this one follows Erin, the old sister of the two, and how she follows her sister, Tess, across the country worrying her sister may have gone a little mad, wanting to marry a man she’s known for such a short time.

Erin is fiery and doesn’t mess around with words. She tells people what she thinks and wants and has never met anyone who stands up to her. Until she meets Seth. He knocks her down a few pegs with his flirty attitude and she finds herself wanting him, almost as much as he seems to want her, but she holds back.

I have to say I liked Seth, he’s sort of gentle in his seduction of her. He doesn’t push her into anything but he wants answers as to why she keeps turning him down when he realises there’s a definite reason behind it.

It was a sweet story of overcoming fears and finding yourself again after suffering at the hands of someone else.

INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY

Lilou Roux is giving 5 lucky people the chance to win an ebook copy of both books in the Moon Claimed series, Drawn and Roused. All you have to do is enter on the Rafflecopter giveaway below (unfortunately the entry form wont work on my blog but if you click on the link below, it will take you to the giveaway).

So the signed copy of Eversea by Natasha Boyd arrived in the post earlier. Can’t wait to read it. Thank you Laura/Bookish Treasures for the chance to win it 🙂

Now I’m just waiting on Nocturne, which seems like it’s not coming since it will have been 6 weeks on Saturday since I was picked as a winner on Goodreads 😦
