It’s published!

Published 18/07/2014 by leannecrabtree

So I’ve just published Charlotte & Sebastian to Smashwords and enrolled it in the site-wide promotion–which means it’s FREE!–so it is now available to read in various formats and hopefully it going through the “meat-grinder” process hasn’t made it unreadable. Unfortunately, it hasn’t automatically been added to the Premium Catalogue, and been made available to other sites–B&N, iTunes–but I’ll be working to make it so when I get in from work later. Happy reading! 😀

Merch

Published 15/07/2014 by leannecrabtree

I had this idea to do some merchandise in relation to my books: bookmarks, postcards, badges etc and have just been scouring the net trying to find some reasonably priced ones. I found this site that looked promising. Less than $10 for 50 bookmarks. Uploaded my design and everything and still cheap and then I go to checkout and suddenly it’s charging me $90 delivery. Should have known it was too good to be true 😛

So my question to my lovely readers/fellow bloggers and writers is: do you know a good value site for merch printing?

AND for those of you who don’t own a kindle, I’m publishing Charlotte& Sebastian to Smashwords on Friday or Saturday – the 18th or 19th of this month! 😀

And I’m back!

Published 04/06/2014 by leannecrabtree

So I’ve copied the first four chapters and plumped them out a bit and guess what? The word count is now 6939, that’s an extra 500 words added. Woohoo! I knew it was a good idea. It’s also helped me get that pain-in-the-butt sex scene (no pun intended) going in the right direction. There are now no errors in transitioning and I have a good idea of how it’s going to go.

Now I’m off again to hopefully finish the chapter before I have to go out 😀

Ciao for now!

Off to write!

Published 04/06/2014 by leannecrabtree

So for the first time in a while, everything else is going on the back burner while I mess around with The Concubine. I’ve already started. I’ve opened a new document and I’m copying bits over little by little and plumping them out a bit before moving onto the next section.

Old version word count: 6439

Let’s see if there is a huge jump in the number by the time I’m finished in a few hours 🙂

Trying to finish Charlotte & Sebastian and in need of Proof/Beta reader for it. Anyone?

Published 06/04/2014 by leannecrabtree

So you’ll probably know by now that I never set plans or plots for my stories, I just go with the flow whenever inspiration hits. I can’t quite say that’s I’m hit by it at the minute but considering C&S is set for release in two weeks and I’m working on the most crucial bit of the story: the ending!, I think it’s time I at least tried to work on it.

I’m about a chapter and a half from the ending currently and I’m trying to bring it around so they can kill the bad guy. Sounds fairly easy but we’ll see how it plays out :S. There will be 20 Chapters and I’m about halfway through Chapter 19. It may get an Epilogue just to sort of bring it together.

As mentioned in the title of the post, I’m looking for a beta/proof reader who could possibly read through my story and point out any errors ready for it’s release. If you’d like to know more about my story then click HERE to be taken to it’s Goodreads page. If this sounds like your sort of story, then leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you about it. Thanks!

Next month is my author friend Natalie Herzer’s birthday and she’s doing a Paranormal Giveaway in celebration of it and myself and two other authors as well as Natalie are taking part.

I will be giving away copies of Charlotte & Sebastian, Natalie will be giving away copies of Ivory Guard, Amy will be giving away copies of Golden Dunes of Renhala and Lilou will be giving away copies of Shadow Touched.

Don’t forget to come back for the chance to win these books!

About the Books:

Charlotte & Sebastian

charlie&bastiancover1Charlotte works at the Agency, a place committed to stopping rogue paranormal beings from terrorizing members of the public.

Sebastian, a vampire, is the only paranormal working at the Agency and no-one but the Director knows why.

Charlotte should despise Sebastian, after all it was a vampire who murdered her family, but instead she finds herself drawn to him.

Sebastian is fascinated by Charlotte, the feisty young woman who equally wants and loathes him, and once he gets a taste of her he’ll do anything to make her his.

The Ivory Guard (Guard Duet,#1)

18282611[1]Life will make you stumble

One peaceful afternoon Lillian finds two angels in her living room – wings and gloriole and all – telling her she is an Ivory. Half human and half angel she is born to fight for humankind and to guard the hellholes where the membrane between worlds is at its weakest.
She, an important warrior? Yeah, riiiight.

Life can make you fall

Raz might be an angel but he doesn’t do compassion. His job is to train her, to make her a leader and that’s what he will do. So Lillian will just have to suck it up when she discovers the deadly truth behind his words. When she does exactly that, he has to admit there’s more to the bookworm than he thought.  Much more. But there’s one thing he shouldn’t forget – in his world feelings come with a price. Is he willing to pay?

Love will give you wings.

Golden Dunes of Renhala (Renhala, #2)

17402412[1]How do you live with a secret so dark and so deeply woven into your being that it threatens to smother your very existence, with no known way out? Use it to your advantage.

Kailey Rooke, karmelean, and now a possibly unethical karma-for-hire, has spent the past year jumping from project to project without any real hope for salvation. With repercussions from her actions at every turn, she discovers that as time goes on, she loses a bit more of herself to that which feeds on her anguish–that which is thriving inside her own body.

When a new contract to find a missing girl arises, Kailey attempts to put her past and its associated problems on the back burner, but she soon finds out that treachery and deceit lie shortly ahead in Golden Dunes, only giving face to new problems, with one leading right back to her childhood past.

She struggles to complete her contract as her own life teeters on a fulcrum, constantly tipping according to karma’s whim. How long will she keep her balance? Which way will she fall?

Shadow Touched (Shadow Roamer, #1)

They are the shadows. 19284889[2]
They are the inbetween…neither day nor night but existing in both.
They guard and fight to keep the two worlds and their creatures apart.

Stella has always had a weakness for the dark so much so that she craves it like her next breath. While her friends would laugh at her weird moods, she has never felt anything more invigorating than sitting in lonely darkness. But one night, as restlessness strikes again, she finds herself face to face with the less peaceful facet night has to offer…

Making sure that humans stay to the light and darker creatures to the night, is a job he revels in. Until he meets Stella. Nero has never met a woman like her and soon realizes why: she is a Halfling; half shadow and half human, and an evidence of illicit interactions that is usually destroyed at birth, if not before. Nero knows the rules all too well but forbidden desire runs hot and before he knows it he pleads the King for four weeks.
Four weeks in which he has to train her.
Four weeks to show them that there is enough shadow inside of her…so that she may live.

Michelle O’ Leary

Published 19/02/2014 by leannecrabtree

As you may know, every so often I like to do a sort of spotlight on author’s that I’ve read and really liked that aren’t as well known as I believe they should be. So far I’ve done Rachel Higginson and Lindsay Buroker.

Today it’s the turn of Michelle O’ Leary.

She’s an author of science fiction romance. I’ve read two of her books so far, The Huntress and Light of Kaska, and really enjoyed both, with No Such Thing still to read.

I’m not the biggest fan of Sci-fi books, I’ll admit. If I do happen to read one, I’m looking for a good romance sub-plot and Michelle’s books have just that. She weaves stories that draw you in and the world building is really detailed. I grew to really care about her characters plights and were happy when things turned out good for them in the end.

If you like sci-fi romances and are looking for a new name in the genre then I suggest you give Michelle O’ Leary a try. I’m certainly looking forward to reading more from the author in the future.
