So the latest proof copy of Charlotte & Sebastian arrived about a half hour ago in the post. It looks so much better colour wise now that I’ve done in it two separate pieces instead of one big one.
There are still some issues though.
The cover is still a little pixelated, the writing on the back is too close to the spine, the floral swirl on the back isn’t all the right colour and, though I can’t do anything about this, the title and author name are not on the spine. Scratch that last one since I cant change that.
I must admit though, that I’m really pleased with it. What do you guys think?
I’ve just spent the last hour or two making a cover for Charlotte & Sebastian’s paperback edition. I’m really hoping it comes out looking good and un-pixelated, which is the only real reason why Cat’s Wolf isn’t available to buy yet. I might still add a quote or something to it but what do we think? Like it?
So it came on Saturday and I totally forgot about it, until a minute ago. As you can see it’s smaller than the old one. It also has cream pages, page numbers and I’m not sure if you can make it out but my name and the title are on the spine! Big improvement on last time!
Now it’s just the image which is still slightly pixelated and the page numbers continue onto the preview of book 2, Wolf Claimed, that I also added. It’s not major enough for me to go back and change it all again, so I think I may just approve the proof and set it to distribution through Amazon and Createspace.
I don’t think I’ll be doing Wolf Claimed into paperback yet, as I’d like to get a bit of the way into Shifter Romance Novella, #3, which will be Malachi and Ruby’s story. I’m not really into my writing at the minute, though it has a prologue and I’ve started chapter one.
Wow…I have something I’ve written and printed, and it’s in my hand. It’s a strange feeling, really.
It doesn’t quite look like that in real life, though. My phone’s made the colours sharper than they are. It’s grey, not blue, the background of the picture so it doesn’t look as mysterious as the picture makes out.
And you know what? I want to change some things about it now. The size, the font, the page colour, maybe add some page numbers…
But it is quite cool for a first proof copy. I’m still a happy bunny 😀
Two books, I’ve been dying to come for the past week have come! You already know I love Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series, so the fifth book from The Works for £1.99?!?! Hell yes!! I also recently read the first book in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh and fell in love, also from The Works (that shop is a God send!) but unfortunately they didn’t have the second book in the store so ordered it offline and it came today. I am in book heaven at the minute. I just need to hurry up and finish If I Die by Rachel Vincent before I can devour these two books.
I’m still awaiting my own book, which I have ordered from CreateSpace. My indie author friend Natalie has received her so I’m eagerly awaiting mine now. I’m also still waiting on two paperbacks I’ve won: Nocturne and Eversea, both signed New Adult books. Fingers crossed they come soon, too 😀
This feels like the first word count post I’ve done in ages. And it probably is as I’ve been busy doing other things. So here it is:
Coming along rather nicely now. I have a feeling it may end up shorter than Cat’s Wolf which, when complete, was 72 pages and 31,122 words. Fingers crossed it will be finished soon and then it will be off to one Miss Natalie Herzer for a read through.
Jen, you came up with some good ideas/points regarding the cover for my possible paperback version of Cat’s Wolf. It may come to fruition, it may not since it’s only going to be 113 pages long but that’s better than I expected. But I need to do a cover before I mess about with all the finer details of CreateSpace so I’m asking for input. Which one do we like best?
