So I’ve been thinking of a new story. It’s got me all giddy for some strange reason and me and Natalie have been hammering out the plot for the past two hours or so. I think we have finally come up with something worthwhile and I’ve already started writing a scene from it. It’s leaning more towards erotic romance than anything else and I’m thinking this will be fun to write. Fingers crossed all goes well and I get it finished. Natalie even said she could see it being a full length novel if I can put everything in it that I want to. Oooh, excited!
Well this is just a little update.
First, it looks like we finally decided on the name Lucca for my Italian character in my backpacking story, with four votes out of seven. Like I mentioned in the post it may not go anywhere, but at the same time it just might ;P
Second, I’m editing Natalie’s second book in The Patroness series, The Hunt Is On, and that will be taking up a fair bit of my time over the next week or so. You should check out the books, they’re good if you like urban fantasy with a bit of romance and mystery. 😀
Third, I’ve come up with something to add to Wolf Claimed that will require another story, which I think will be 0.5–slight change to what it was going to be about–and that will be finished after Wolf Claimed. Not going to spoil it, though I’m not sure if I haven’t mentioned it in a previous post
Wolf Claimed’s current word count is: 5,926
Ciao for now 😀
Well I sent off three stories to Natalie the other day(road too…, #0.5 and #2) and we were discussing plotlines and The Shifter Romance ones will be changing.
Instead of #2 running along the same plotline as #1, I’m now going to make #0.5 into a story about Misha having a brother who was also given a wolf as a life mate. His parents gave him an ultimatum and he chose his mate instead of his family, much to their hatred and he is then disowned/cut out and is never mentioned aloud again. This will then play a part of the second book. It will still have the side-plot of Kaitlin’s dad bringing down Jonah.
Book #2 will then be as I put on my previous post with Darren, the other wolf pack leader, wanting his members back and taking Misha thinking she’s Kaitlin and using her a bargaining tool. The Brent can go all crazy dominant wolf getting her back and then claiming her. Might put a reappearance of her brother in it…
So I’ve been scanning my reviews on Amazon and GoodReads and I’ve seen that someone wants to know what happened before Cat’s Wolf, i.e. why the cat’s and wolves are enemies, and someone wants more of Kaitlin and Rhys. So maybe I could do a 0.5 and a 1.5?
I have just written a little starter of what 0.5 could be and it’s from Paul Mahone’s viewpoint. This is what I’ve got so far (baring in mind I have literally just wrote it):
Paul Mahone bowed his head in deference to his leader, Jonah, but his jaguar rebelled against the movement. Both he and the cat knew he could take the older man if he wanted to. But no, he had another plan.
The other man was getting old and weak in his decision making. He was making the cat’s look soft. Something he and many of the other cat clan members despised.
As you may have gathered, we’re going to like him less now than we did before. We’re going to find out why the cat’s and the wolves are enemies and at who’s hand that happened. I’ve just remembered someone mentioned the mating bond too and how you know they are “the one”. I may even include a bit of little girl Kaitlin and her belief in her daddy. Still undecided on that yet but she will have been born. Therefore Cat’s Wolf will have place about twenty years later.
1.5 will take place between Cat’s Wolf and *Wolf Claimed*, which means it will answer questions as to which you might have had if not for it… Like house hunting (because Rhys’ pack move out of the Crescent Bay and into a huge mansion like house to house them all) and I’m sure more sex (because they’re a very passionate couple and cant resist each other) and more members joining from their old pack.
That’s got me thinking now for book 2. What about Rhys’ old pack leader–cant remember his name, considering I only mentioned him twice near the beginning of book 1–trying to get his old members back and in the process taking Misha thinking she was Kaitlin as a bargaining tool? Hmm…it’s a plot, which is more than I had before. Then Brent could go all domineering wolf trying to get her back. And then when he gets her back, he can claim her! Making *Wolf Claimed* a very suitable name.
Does my logic work? What do we reckon? YAY or NAY?
Is it just me or does anyone else like looking at stock photos for inspiration when writing a story?
I’m having so much fun writing this “Road To…” one at the minute and looking for hot bad boy bikers, mechanics and just men in general. They’re definitely helping though with the steamier scenes let me tell ya.
4 chapters in, though that’s kinda cheating considering chapter 3 is only eight lines long at the minute–I skipped it to write a hot garage sex scene instead 😛
I don’t know what it is with bad boys but they’re fun to write. Haha, the joys of writing 😀
Well, I’m currently out of ideas for *Wolf Claimed*. I just seem to be repeating myself. If anyone has an helpful ideas on how Brent could claim Misha (I haven’t even thought of what cat she should be yet), then please let me know. If you’ve read the previous story Cat’s Wolf, then you know the background of the two, if not then don’t worry about it.
I’m thinking of having her nearing her needing, like Kaitlin in the first, only she’s now in a house full of wolves…
I’m going through a writer’s block/brain dead stage of things at the minute and though I keep writing in my notebooks, little bits for future chapters, it’s still not really going anywhere.
This may be one of those times to call on Natalie Herzer, my author friend for help. (BTW, you should totally check her books out on Amazon!!) http://n-herzer.blogspot.co.uk
In the mean time, I’m continuing to write the Hart of Dixie inspired piece, though it’s changed, into not being a love triangle and turning more into Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley which I’m reading at the minute as well as a few others (Full Blooded and Strange Angels (see Reading List tab above)). Though my characters wont be as old (not that 39/40 is old!) and I’m hoping to set it in a rural town/village in England. (With me being from Yorkshire, this may prove helpful because it’s hard basing something in America when you don’t live there :/)
Yeah, so “Road to…” as I’m currently calling it tells the story of Delaney, whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere as she is trying to reach the little town/village where her sister is getting married the following day. She’s been walking in the hot sun for over an hour, with no cars passing by, when she hears the thrum of a motorbike coming her way. Quickly dropping her luggage, she runs into the middle of the road and flags the bike down. What’s a girl to do when the biker turns out to be one of the most attractive guys she’s ever seen?
Well, I haven’t quite decided that bit yet but I’m sure I’ll have fun thinking about it 😛
…On several accounts.
One: My list of books and my obsession with them It is ever increasing and my asking for all these books off NetGalley is crazy. Luckily for me, I’ve been turned down a few times 🙂
Two: I was supposed to finish Chapter 1 of *Wolf Claimed* (title may change depending on whether I make Brent demanding enough to “claim” Misha) and instead started writing an entirely different story based on Hart of Dixie, which I am equally falling in love with and getting annoyed at (with the whole Wade liking Zoe and Zoe being oblivious because of her feelings for the engaged George). If you watch it, you’ll most likely understand that last bit, if not it doesn’t matter. It just means it’s a kind of love triangle.
Three: Related to two in the fact that Hart of Dixie is distracting me from my writing. It’s addictive. I only started watching it three/four days ago and I’m hooked: episode 16 already, of 22. I feel the need to catch up on it but like I said, such a distraction! (In fact, I’m watching episode 16 right now) :S
So today I’m going to try and finish the first chapter of my second book in the “Shifter Romance Novella” series (*Shifter Romance* now called “Cat’s Wolf” being book 1). I haven’t really thought about a plot but I have wrote notes on what I want the first chapter to go like. All of about 6 sentences.
I admit I have a weird way of working!
It’s going to be based on Brent and Misha and if I’m going to called it “Wolf Claimed” then I really need to think this one out. How is he going to claim her? Sexually? As his? Both?
I also need to bring Tito back into it since he never reappeared in the first…I’ll admit I forgot about him Let’s say he went and licked his wounds from the ass-whooping he received from Rhys??
Maybe get Raoul to appear and figure out who he was working for…
And maybe Shanae could be in Rhys’ pack now having left the main one…and be my third story??
Well as you’ve probably gathered, I haven’t thought this through at all so it may take me a while to write–another 6/7 months like the last one?
I’m already seven chapters in and know what’s going into the next two and i dont think im anywhere near done…this story is looking good!!
It seems Ruby went up online yesterday at some point.
I had one feedback for it when i checked my email this morning and that person enjoyed it so i think I’m going to upload the second of the four points, hope they like that one as much as the first… And then work on finishing parts 3 and 4.
Then work on the others on my “in progress” list above. Hopefully they’ll flow like Ruby is at the minute and I’ll get another finished before Christmas
Ciao for now 😀
