So after six trips to New York over the past eight years, I think my love affair with the city is over. I think everything has been done by us that could have, apart from an actual boat ride to the Statue of Liberty but we did get on a boat and go around the island so I think that’s close enough.
This year there were a lot of road works and things happening and it made everything seem so crowded and I didn’t like it. But me and my mum did two things we hadn’t done before; we went to the Central Park Zoo and we went to The Highline.
I’ve added a few pictures I took while there:
One of Lord & Taylor’s Christmas Window displays

I also didn’t get much reading or writing done although while waiting in Manchester Airport, I got a brainwave for how to overcome the bit I was stuck on in my new writing project–the P.I. Romance–and I’ll be writing it in soon and seeing if I can finish the current chapter.
As for the reading, I only managed one and a half books–the Morganville series–and I have to admit I’m not really in any hurry to finish it as it will be hard to leave Claire, Shane, Eve, Michael and the rest of the gang for good…but I must.
I’d like to wish everyone a happy new year! Hope it’s a good one 😀
Writing wise, Charlotte & Sebastian, is still going strong. I’m on Chapter 8 and it’s just getting to another good bit :D. As for books 0.5 and 3 in my Shifter Romance Novella series, well, I haven’t been having much luck with them, but there’s a whole year ahead and you never know what might happen. *fingers crossed* I’ve been working on other things too, but I’ll not mention much about them since they might not work out in the end.
Well Charlotte and Sebastian, or as I like to call them–Charlie and Seb–is still going strong. YAY! And I’m just starting work on chapter 5. So far we’ve had a battle with some rogue werewolves, two blood donations, two attacks: one verbal, one physical, some intense physical attraction and I still have quite a few more things I want to add so it’s looking good!
It’s currently at 7755 words and I’m hoping, if I don’t get distracted (fingers crossed), to get it to well over 8000 by the end of the day.
Also, because I’m hoping I get it finished, I’ve done a cover for it. What do we think? Here it is:
I’ve just added an excerpt from the story I started writing while in San Francisco, currently called *Footballer*, because I seem to lack imagination with story names 😛 (That’s what my author friend Natalie Herzer is so good at, you have her to thank for Cat’s Wolf and Wolf Claimed 😀 Thank you Natalie!) You can find it on the “W.I.P Excerpts” tab above. Hope you like it!
After some discussion I’ve decided to concentrate on three stories at the minute; The Concubine, *Charlotte & Sebastian* and *Footballer*
So I’ve been thinking of a new story. It’s got me all giddy for some strange reason and me and Natalie have been hammering out the plot for the past two hours or so. I think we have finally come up with something worthwhile and I’ve already started writing a scene from it. It’s leaning more towards erotic romance than anything else and I’m thinking this will be fun to write. Fingers crossed all goes well and I get it finished. Natalie even said she could see it being a full length novel if I can put everything in it that I want to. Oooh, excited!
One: ARC’s. I haven’t requested any new ones from NetGalley in an attempt to try and work my way through the list of books on my Kindle. The number is still in the 700’s and though I have cut down on buying new one’s it still happens every so often when I cant resist a book that’s price has reduced that’s on my wish-list. If you are on GoodReads you can view my list here. If not, then I’m sure you can imagine how long it is.
Two: Wolf Claimed. It’s kinda hit a bit of a brick-wall. I’m sure it’ll all come back to me soon but for the time being it’s on hold. Instead I’m concentrating on other stories and working my way through both my paperbacks and kindle stories (one of each at a time). Finger’s crossed I’ll have good news for you in the next blog post.
First, it looks like we finally decided on the name Lucca for my Italian character in my backpacking story, with four votes out of seven. Like I mentioned in the post it may not go anywhere, but at the same time it just might ;P
Second, I’m editing Natalie’s second book in The Patroness series, The Hunt Is On, and that will be taking up a fair bit of my time over the next week or so. You should check out the books, they’re good if you like urban fantasy with a bit of romance and mystery. 😀
Third, I’ve come up with something to add to Wolf Claimed that will require another story, which I think will be 0.5–slight change to what it was going to be about–and that will be finished after Wolf Claimed. Not going to spoil it, though I’m not sure if I haven’t mentioned it in a previous post
Is it just me or does anyone else like looking at stock photos for inspiration when writing a story?
I’m having so much fun writing this “Road To…” one at the minute and looking for hot bad boy bikers, mechanics and just men in general. They’re definitely helping though with the steamier scenes let me tell ya.
4 chapters in, though that’s kinda cheating considering chapter 3 is only eight lines long at the minute–I skipped it to write a hot garage sex scene instead 😛
I don’t know what it is with bad boys but they’re fun to write. Haha, the joys of writing 😀
Well, I’m currently out of ideas for *Wolf Claimed*. I just seem to be repeating myself. If anyone has an helpful ideas on how Brent could claim Misha (I haven’t even thought of what cat she should be yet), then please let me know. If you’ve read the previous story Cat’s Wolf, then you know the background of the two, if not then don’t worry about it.
I’m thinking of having her nearing her needing, like Kaitlin in the first, only she’s now in a house full of wolves…
I’m going through a writer’s block/brain dead stage of things at the minute and though I keep writing in my notebooks, little bits for future chapters, it’s still not really going anywhere.
This may be one of those times to call on Natalie Herzer, my author friend for help. (BTW, you should totally check her books out on Amazon!!) http://n-herzer.blogspot.co.uk
In the mean time, I’m continuing to write the Hart of Dixie inspired piece, though it’s changed, into not being a love triangle and turning more into Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley which I’m reading at the minute as well as a few others (Full Blooded and Strange Angels (see Reading List tab above)). Though my characters wont be as old (not that 39/40 is old!) and I’m hoping to set it in a rural town/village in England. (With me being from Yorkshire, this may prove helpful because it’s hard basing something in America when you don’t live there :/)
Yeah, so “Road to…” as I’m currently calling it tells the story of Delaney, whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere as she is trying to reach the little town/village where her sister is getting married the following day. She’s been walking in the hot sun for over an hour, with no cars passing by, when she hears the thrum of a motorbike coming her way. Quickly dropping her luggage, she runs into the middle of the road and flags the bike down. What’s a girl to do when the biker turns out to be one of the most attractive guys she’s ever seen?
Well, I haven’t quite decided that bit yet but I’m sure I’ll have fun thinking about it 😛
Can I say I’m really surprised with how many people are downloading Cat’s Wolf? Over 150 in America alone and it’s not even been two weeks yet. It’s Amazon ranking keeps going up every morning when I check. Yesterday it was 6,000 and today its in the 3,000’s. Ranked #49 in Amazon US’s Best Sellers in Paranormal Werewolves & Shifters Romance.
I have to admit I’m waiting for more reviews to come in. It’s okay people downloading it but that doesn’t let me know what they think. Hopefully, these 159 people will leave reviews sometime soon and they’ll be happy with the story.
I’ve also just enrolled it in Amazon KDP (after removing all traces of it from here) and have set it to be free this weekend (15-16 June).
